Dana Vera

Dana Vera is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over two decades of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Alongside her work at Greenwich Advanced Counseling, Dana serves the Stamford Public Schools, where she leads district-wide initiatives to cultivate trauma-informed environments and support social-emotional learning. Dana also provides clinical supervision for therapists in private practice, guiding them to lead every therapeutic relationship with authenticity, openness, and compassion.

Dana holds a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and an M.S.W. from Columbia University. Her career has included leadership roles across outpatient clinics, school systems, and community-based mental health programs and has extensive experience in school consultation and delivering integrative care for families and children with complex needs. Dana’s ongoing dedication to her craft is shaped by a thoughtful integration of the art and science of psychotherapy. Her commitment to lifelong learning reflects a profound respect for the complexity of human experience and the evolving nature of healing.
Dana specializes in helping adolescents and adults make sense of their inner experiences, deepen emotional connections, and heal often-invisible relational wounds. She has expertise in supporting individuals and families navigate the complex emotional landscape of divorce— honoring the deep impact of loss, rupture and the challenge of redefining identity in its aftermath. Drawing on integrative approaches, Dana supports individuals in reconnecting with their authentic selves and understanding how early emotional experiences shape present-day relationships. Dana also leads workshops on parenting and the effects of screen-based culture, addressing the growing disconnection and anxiety faced by children and families in today’s digital world.

Grounded in compassion, curiosity, and collaboration, Dana creates a space where individuals can gently unlearn protective patterns that no longer serve them—and move toward greater ease, presence, and well-being.
Dana lives with her two boys in Stamford.

Beneath the noise of the world and the weight of expectation, you’re still there. I’m here to help you unlearn what isn’t you—and find your way back to what is.
